RENOWNED EYE SURGEON DR SURESH KUMAR PANDEY HONORED BY EDUCATION MINISTER DURING THE 80TH INDEPENDENCE DAY
Citation Recognizes His Long-Standing Contributions to Eye Care, Eye Donation Awareness and Social Service
Kota: On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, the District Administration, Kota, honoured noted eye surgeon Dr Suresh Kumar Pandey, Director of SuVi Eye Hospital & Lasik Laser Centre, Kota, with a citation recognizing his long-standing and distinguished contributions to ophthalmology, medical education, eye donation, public awareness and social services. The honor was conferred in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Minister for Education and Panchayati Raj Shri Madan Dilawar, Divisional Commissioner Shri Anil Kumar Agrawal, District Collector Shri Peeyush Samariya, and Inspector General of Police, Kota Range, Shri Harendra Kumar Mahavar.
For nearly three decades, Dr Pandey has remained deeply committed to restoring vision, advancing ophthalmic education and taking preventive eye-care awareness beyond the walls of the hospital. With extensive experience performing more than 100,000 eye surgeries and treating over 2 million patients, he has combined advanced clinical care with a sustained effort to educate the community about prevention, early detection and timely treatment of eye diseases.
Beyond his role as a senior ophthalmologist, Dr Pandey is also an author, motivational speaker and social worker. Through his writing and public engagements, he regularly addresses health awareness, youth motivation, positive living and nation-building. His notable books include “Zindagi Ka Jashn: Sukhad, Safal Aur Sarthak Jeevan Ke 101 Sunahre Sutra,” “Operation Mahashakti Bharat 2047,” and “Diary of an Eye Surgeon,” along with several other publications. His articles, lectures, digital initiatives and public-awareness programmes have helped carry important health and social messages to a wider audience.
Eye donation and prevention of corneal blindness have been an important focus of Dr Pandey’s community initiatives. He has consistently encouraged people to pledge their eyes after death and has worked to spread awareness that corneal donation can restore sight and transform the life of a person living with corneal blindness. He has also conducted and supported free eye-health awareness programmes for schoolchildren, coaching students, senior citizens and community groups across Kota, with special emphasis on preventive eye care and timely eye examinations.
Dr Pandey has also made a notable contribution to medical education and the training of young ophthalmologists. During the past nearly two decades, more than 100 young eye doctors from India and abroad have received training at SuVi Eye Hospital, Kota. He regularly shares his surgical experience, clinical insights and knowledge at national and international ophthalmology conferences, scientific sessions and professional training programs.
Expressing gratitude after receiving the honor, Dr Suresh K. Pandey said that the recognition was not his alone, but belonged equally to the entire SuVi Eye Hospital team, fellow doctors, staff members, patients, mentors, well-wishers and everyone who has supported his journey of service over the years. He added that such recognition strengthens his resolve to continue working for better eye care, medical education, eye-donation awareness and compassionate service to society.
