Triple the prize! BCCI’s Rs 58 cr gift to India after Champions Trophy win :
In a remarkable display of recognition and encouragement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a substantial cash reward of ₹58 crore for the Indian men’s cricket team following their victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This reward is more than triple the official prize money of $2.24 million (approximately ₹19.48 crore) awarded to the champions by the International Cricket Council (ICC) .
Breakdown of the ₹58 Crore Reward
The BCCI’s generous bonus is distributed as follows:
₹3 crore each to all 15 squad members and head coach Gautam Gambhir.
₹50 lakh each to assistant coaches Ryan Ten Doeschate, Abhishek Nayar, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, and bowling coach Morne Morkel.
₹50 lakh each to other support staff members.
₹30 lakh to chief selector Ajit Agarkar.
₹25 lakh each to the remaining four national selectors and BCCI officials who were part of the contingent in Dubai .
India’s Journey to Victory
Under the leadership of captain Rohit Sharma, Team India showcased exceptional performance throughout the tournament. Their journey to the title included:
A six-wicket victory over Bangladesh.
Another six-wicket win against Pakistan.
A 44-run triumph over New Zealand.
A four-wicket win against Australia in the semi-final.
The final against New Zealand saw India chasing down a target of 252, with significant contributions from Rohit Sharma (76), Shreyas Iyer (48), Axar Patel (29), and an unbeaten 34 from KL Rahul, securing the win with an over to spare .
BCCI’s Acknowledgment
BCCI President Roger Binny praised the team’s achievement, stating, “Securing consecutive ICC titles is a remarkable achievement, and this honour recognises Team India’s commitment and outstanding international performances.” Board Secretary Devajit Saikia emphasized that the reward acknowledges the hard work of every individual behind the scenes and reaffirms India’s position as the number one white-ball cricket team .
